Elisa Henderson says that what sets her bed and breakfast, Elisa’s Sunday Haus, apart from the numerous lodging options in Round Top is its connection with nature. Set on four acres of land that was formerly an oil field, the southern dog-trot style home overlooks a pond and a serene garden that Elisa planted and tends to herself. Despite its secluded location, the B&B is walking distance from Round Top’s downtown, and guests can expect clean, comfortable rooms that are steeped in history by way of reclaimed barn wood beams and long-leaf pine flooring dating back to 1864, as well as unique touches from the Black Forest in Germany where Elisa grew up.
“Elisa’s Sunday Haus wasn’t planned,” she says. After emigrating from Germany when she was 28, Elisa worked in marketing for Singapore Airlines’ Houston office for 27 years.
