With six No. 1 albums, five No. 1 singles and six Grammy Awards, the Eagles are one of the most successful groups to emerge in the ’70s. Rolling Stone ranked them No. 75 out of the 100 greatest artists of all time. This is unsurprising since they have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, and their albums Hotel California and The Greatest Hits (1971-1975) are some of the best-selling albums in the US, with both ranking in the top five.
Of their seven studio albums, four have reached No. 1 in the US. In 1998, the Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. The band continues to tour the world at major venues, playing all of their classic songs that have stood the test of time for 50 years.

The Eagles have quite a unique story about how they came together. Glenn Frey and Don Henley, who were both established musicians in their own right, were asked to play for Linda Ronstadt on her 1971 tour. As they played together, they decided they wanted to form a band of their own. When they told Ronstadt of their intention, she recommended Bernie Leadon to them, even arranging for him to play at her concert so that they could get to know him. They also brought Randy Meisner on board, with the foursome playing behind Ronstadt for a July concert that was held at Disneyland.
In September of 1971, they were signed to Asylum Records as their own band. Since their inception, the Eagles have created classics such as “Hotel California” and “New Kid in Town.”
The Eagles make sure that fans get to hear all of their favorite songs. Their set normally includes classics such as “Take It Easy,” “One of These Nights,” “Take It to the Limit,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “The Boys of Summer” and “Life in the Fast Lane.” They often have up to three encores. In their first encore, they usually perform “Hotel California.” For their second encore, they sing “Desperado” and “Rocky Mountain Way,” and if they do a third encore, they perform “Best of my Love.”
